Influences
I am deeply influenced by the Surrealist artworks of the 1930’s, whereby the visual ‘aesthetics’ and approach rapidly changed the world view of art. To me it was open, free and wild in which any possible subject could be created and belonged. Specifically Salvador Dali was my main influence yet I draw from all the artists of surrealism with different aspects of each artists work I could get pulled towards and want to recreate or adapt in my own way. Ultimately shaping the artwork I create now and the style I have created, which continues to evolve and develop as I evolve and develop as an artist.
A modern influence has been the YouTube artist Slew. He started out videoing his early art, recording his journey at every step. Showcasing the slow shift from one style of art into another, archived for all to see. With that idea in mind I also created a YouTube channel to do a similar archiving. Something that I can look back at in years to come and see the changes to myself and my art in a fun way.
